ACTIVE TRIPS
WHO SAID HYPERACTIVE IS A BAD THING?
BIKING | HIKING | MULTISPORTS ADVENTURES
Active travel is my favorite style! My husband and I have been doing active travel since we met and we both love it how the connection with each other and with the places we visit are so much stronger compared to other travel styles.
True story: while the majority of honeymooners choose the Caribbean to start their married life, the crazy ones like us chose to hike Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe. So there you go, I spent my honeymoon hiking mountains in the border of France, Italy, and Switzerland, and sleeping in mountain huts with no shower. Truth be told, we did end the whole experience with a few days relaxing at a super cute small French village and a day in Paris.
When the boys were born, we told ourselves that we would continue to fit some active travel in our lives. We did a bike trip in Germany in one year, a bike trip in the south of France the next one, then we did biking and hiking in Alaska, and a super fun glamping trip to the Yellowstone and the Tetons.
There are incredible active travel companies out there, for all styles and budgets. G Adventures is one of my favorite ones (they also organize the National Geographic Journeys I'm so in love with) due to the vast array of places they travel to and how much they do to the local communities (they have lots of projects to increase entrepreneurship in small and poor communities improving their lives).
Think Patagonia, Hiking Kilimanjaro, trekking to Everest base camp, biking in Vietnam.... the possibilities are endless! There are options for biking only, hiking only, or a selection of multi-sports (that would include not only biking and hiking but kayaking, rafting, and other activities).
Backroads is the company we chose to do the Yellowstone and Tetons, and what an experience! They were amazing from start to finish. We chose the camping style (it's actually glamping, my husband would never agree to a true camping trip lol).
We had everything taken care of for us - the tents were so comfortable, the sleeping bags were the best, and we had our own chef cooking delicious meals in a picnic setting. It was truly unforgettable, even though we had a rainy day that got all our shoes wet (clue the shoes on the fire pit on the side).
If you like to be active, do biking, hiking, walking, kayaking, and more, let me know! I can find the perfect trip for you! THIS IS GOING TO BE A TRIP OF A LIFETIME! Good thing you can have more than one :-)
