RIVER CRUISES

BEAUTIFUL CITIES, DEEP CULTURAL EXPERIENCES,

AND AN UMPARALEL LEVEL OF SERVICE.

A river cruise is a voyage along inland waterways, often stopping at multiple ports along the way. Since cities and towns often grew up around rivers, river cruise ships frequently dock in the center of cities and towns. Oh, and you see land at all times, plus the boat doesn't rock side to side for all those people (me!) who tend to get seasick.

According to Douglas Ward, "A river cruise represents life in the slow lane, sailing along at a gentle pace, soaking up the scenery, with plentiful opportunities to explore riverside towns and cities en route. It is a supremely calming experience, an antidote to the pressures of life in a fast-paced world, in surroundings that are comfortable without being fussy or pretentious, with good food and enjoyable company."

What's not to love?

FOR COUPLES

River cruises can make for excellent romantic trips. You can have a nice cabin that feels like a luxurious hotel room, enjoy fine dining every day, and explore new ports at quaint little towns with great shopping too.

SOLO TRAVELER

A river cruise is a wonderful way for a solo traveler to explore incredible places in a very safe and exciting way. You keep your privacy (you can book your own cabin) but you will join other people on the included excursions so you are never alone. It's also a great environment to make friends and chances are, you will end the trip with a few great new contacts and who knows? Maybe plan another river cruise together!

FOR FAMILIES

River cruise lines are not particularly made for families with young children as they don't offer a kids club or activities directed at them. However, some cruise lines do attract families with children during the school break months and they can be quite fun for the kids to visit different, even medieval, towns and explore a new world to them. Adventures by Disney, which is a company that specializes in tailored family vacations that I work with, uses river cruises in some of their itineraries because they are so comfortable and extremely convenient.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

River cruises include all meals, drinks (some include beer and wine while others include an open bar), and shore excursions. Very comfortable cabins that feel like a hotel room and a very personal onboard service are always included.

IS IT WORTH IT?

The short answer is yes! You get so many things for the price and get to visit different places in a short period of time without all the hassle of handling transportation. Cruises are usually a very good investment. And there are so many options depending on your budget, destinations, and travel style, it's hard to mess it up with good planning :-)

We work with all river cruise lines and will suggest you the best cost x benefit based on what you want your experience to be.
